|The Historic Town of Pine|

A lot of Colorado's charm still resides in its small mountain communities.
Pine, CO is a small mountain community nestled in the foothills southwest of Denver. It is a town from the past with small historic buildings and a casual atmosphere. Pine is better known for its Bed and Breakfasts, creek side cabins and a great outdoor experience than for shopping, entertainment and the night life. If you're not into nature and simple living, this is a place you won't enjoy. Pine sits along the beginnings of the South Platte River at an elevation just short of 7,000 feet. Coves and lakes along the South Platte offer good fishing opportunities and are a big favorite of anglers in the area. Pine is also a jumping off point for hikers and mountain bikers interested in the Pine Valley Trails, Buffalo Creek Trails and the statewide Colorado Trail. Good rock climbing opportunities exist at Sphinx Rock. If you visit Pine, be sure to catch a meal at The Bucksnort, a historic tavern often described as rough and tumble and notorious. While here, be sure to try the house specialty, Antler Ale.
