A Wedding Out of This World
by Stormy on October 24, 2003

At night I look to the sky and wonder what's up there. All those twinkling points of light, sparkling far, far away. Are we alone?

It's a story that they say comes from a galaxy far, far away, but today I got to attend a really different sort of a wedding. It was a special occasion between two great houses and I got to witness a union like no other. Admiral Simmons, an upstanding STARFLEET officer, and Lady Frances, the daughter of a powerful Klingon house, tied the knot in a very unusual ceremony and I got to be at the wedding, watching the amazing show unfold. In true Klingon tradition, the Admiral had to prove himself worthy of the hand of Lady Frances and was challenged by the bride's family on several fronts. A glass of whiskey in hand, he stood up to the tasks put before him, breaking down only once, yelling out in anger, "I'll show you a warrior's liver!" That seemed like a bizarre promise and I'm happy to say that no real liver had actually been involved in the ceremony. John and Frances did have their ceremony and happily invited the alien mob to their suite to continue the festivities. I thank them for their hospitality and wish their happiness lasts forever and a day.

An invitation to attend a fantastic wedding.
