Groundhog 2008

It's time to predict the weather again. It's pretty outside, but kind of cold...
This year I took Summer along with me to predict the weather. Weather predicting is hard work. It requires getting up early and going outside, no matter what the weather is like. It snowed last night. Very pretty, but there's a lot of snow. And it's kind of cold. I'm not a big fan of getting my toes wet and cold. Turns out Summer doesn't like that, either. But she did humor me on this important weather occasion and we hiked out into the cold to see what the winter has in store for us.
It did not look good as we headed out of our burrow and true to form, it wasn't looking good in the middle of the field. The sky was clear and the sun was beating down, making for a cold sunny day. And needless to say we were two marmots staring at our shadows. Six more weeks of winter! That probably stands to reason, too. It's hard to stand on a sheet of snow and predict that warm weather is just around the corner.
Turns out that Punxsutawney Phil is predicting six more weeks of winter, too. We're heading back to the burrow.
