Democratic National Convention, Day 3 by Stormy on August 27, 2008 In how many other places can you look the government in the eye and tell them what you think? Wednesday's protests were stepped up with more aggression and determination and the police presence in the streets grew dramatically greater, but they were there to maintain peace and police negotiators were able to work out solid protest plans with the protest organizers. When you live in America, it's your right to protest. It's your obligation to do so in such a way that you don't harm anyone else. Morning tensions gave way to afternoon understanding. Both sides compromised and the media were cheated out of a headline. Please don't read a political message into the pictures that follow. Marmot Adventures, individual marmots and their handlers want it to be understood that these are images from the streets, events that drew crowds, public curiosities. Marmot Adventures makes no political endorsement. Our only goal is to showcase the happenings at the 2008 DNC. |
